During part 2 yesterday, Pixie named Tomas Soucek as her favourite West Ham player and spoke very highly of David Moyes.
For the third and final part of my exclusive interview with Pixie Lott, we discuss players we should never have sold and the singer names her three dream signings…if money were no object!
West Ham have a reputation of producing some of the country’s most talented young players.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Michael Carrick all burst onto the scene at Upton Park in the late 90’s and the early 2000’s.
‘Incredibly talented’
Pixie shared her admiration for those three players when I asked her to name three players she wished the Hammers never sold. “I loved Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Michael Carrick. I know they went on to achieve great things but I really wished they stayed at West Ham. You can’t blame them for leaving when they did. But it was sad when they all left. Especially Joe Cole. What an incredibly talented player he was!”
All West Ham fans love Joe Cole, and he absolutely loves West Ham. The silky midfielder thrilled the Upton Park faithful when he burst onto the scene, and we haven’t seen a young player come through our academy like him since.
Ferdinand and Carrick are highly regarded in east London as well. It is a shame that we had to move all three players on. But you can’t argue with what leaving Upton Park did for all of their careers.
14 Premier League titles between them is testament to that.
With those three brilliant players on our minds, I then asked Pixie to name three dream signings she would like West Ham boss David Moyes to make, if money were no object. “That’s a really tough one. In a dream world where money didn’t matter I would have to say Lionel Messi firstly. He’s just incredible. Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar as well. We would win the league with those three! It will never happen though so I won’t be getting too excited!”
We can all dream though right?
We finished up our interview by asking Pixie her thoughts on the London Stadium. “It’s a great place to perform. When fans are allowed back into stadiums I’m looking forward to going back to watch the boys in action.”
Let’s hope that Pixie is granted her wish sooner rather than later!
