Pellegrini says he has 100 per cent faith in West Ham ace Roberto

Manuel Pellegrini suggested that he has 100 per cent faith in West Ham stopper Roberto, when speaking to reporters today, as quoted by Football.London.

The experienced goalkeeper joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer. And he probably wouldn’t have expected to be handed much game-time.

That was until first-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski suffered a serious thigh injury against Bournemouth 12 days ago.

WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IS A JOKE.

Roberto, 33, has deputised for the Pole for the last two games, and he has conceded four goals in the process. He also shipped four in the Carabao Cup away at Oxford United earlier on this season.

And unsurprisingly, many West Ham fans are far from thrilled with the prospect of having the Spaniard between the sticks for the next 2-3 months.

Pellegrini offered his full support to Roberto, however, when speaking to reporters today, as quoted by Football.London:

“He is a good goalkeeper. He has a good career behind him, I trust in him 100 per cent.”

Roberto has been vilified by West Ham fans this season. The London Stadium faithful really need to get behind the Spaniard, however.

Whether they like it or not, he will be playing for the next few months. And if the supporters get on his back in every game, it will make his job twice as difficult.

The Hammers welcome Sheffield United to the London Stadium on Saturday, and a clean sheet would do Roberto the world of good.
