Pellegrini predicts reception West Ham fans will give Andy Carroll

Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, and predicted how the West Ham fans will react should Andy Carroll take part for Newcastle at the London Stadium on Saturday, as quoted by Football.London.

The 6ft 4in Geordie left the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer, having spent six years in east London.

And he rejoined former club Newcastle on a free.

Carroll’s old injury problems have come back to haunt him, however.

WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IS A JOKE.

The 30-year-old has only played 89 minutes for the Magpies this season, and the Evening Standard report that he is unlikely to feature against his old club this weekend.

If Carroll does play on Saturday, however, Pellegrini believes he will receive a good reception from the West Ham fans.

The Chilean told Football.London:

“I hope he will be fit as he is a player who has had many injuries. If he is on the bench, it will be one more difficult player that Newcastle will have. If not, they will have another one. I think the fans will give him a good welcome. For different reasons, Andy couldn’t stay here. When you defend the shirt and the fans applaud you many times, he will deserve the same respect.”

Carroll was a popular figure amongst the West Ham fans on the most part. And if he does feature for Newcastle on Saturday, the Hammers faithful will surely give him the reception that he deserves.

He always gave 100 per cent for the east London outfit, and that must not be forgotten.
