West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side’s defeat to Wolves last night, and admitted that he is concerned by how poorly his team have been defending set-pieces.
The Hammers were atrocious against Wolves, and they never really looked like scoring.

It’s the same old story for West Ham.
The same old boring football and predictable tactics.
Pellegrini finds himself under intense pressure, and so he should. The Chilean lacks any kind of enthusiasm on the touchline and his setup seems to be outdated.
If the Hammers lose to Arsenal and Southampton over the next two games, he will surely be sent packing.
One major problem for West Ham this season has been their inability to defend set-pieces.
And Pellegrini admitted that he is really concerned by his side’s fragile defending from free-kicks and corners, as quoted by Football.London:
“Yes, of course. Before this game, we have conceded too many. Newcastle scored three from set pieces, Crystal Palace two, Bournemouth by set pieces, it’s at least eight or ten goals. We will see what we must do but they are decisive goals and it allowed Wolves to manager their game, it was so important to score the first goal.”
West Ham need to improve in every single department if they are going to climb back inside the top half of the table before the end of the season.
Defending properly should be the bare minimum. But the Hammers players can’t seem to even do that at the moment.
And it could end up costing Pellegrini his job.
