Carlos Sanchez joined West Ham from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £4 million (Viola Nation).

The 88-capped Colombia international has been a total disaster since joining the Hammers, however.

The 34-year-old has played 17 games for West Ham, and he is still yet to rack up either a goal or an assist (Transfermarkt).

Sanchez is more of a deep-lying midfielder, so perhaps his defensive stats make for better reading?

Unfortunately for him, no.

In six Premier League games for West Ham this season, the South American has racked up just one tackle, two interceptions, one clearance and 10 ball recoveries. He has won less than 50% of his individual duals and only 50% of his aerial battles (premierleague.com).

Sanchez’s contract expires on June 30th of this year.

Premier League football has been postponed until April 3rd at the earliest.

But with the current Covid-19 crisis encompassing the entire planet, it is highly unlikely that football will return in April.

It would be no surprise if there was no action until the summer at the earliest.

And if that turns out to be the case, Sanchez might have played his last game for West Ham. He has been a total disaster since moving to the London Stadium.

And there surely wouldn’t be one single Hammers fan who would be upset by that.
