Mark Noble shared what Manuel Pellegrini told the West Ham players after they lost 2-0 to Everton last weekend, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard.
The Hammers were absolutely woeful against the Toffees and deserved nothing more than they got.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side actually made a fine start to their Premier League campaign, but a run of just one point in three games has severely tarnished that good work.

West Ham have a great chance to bounce back over the next eight days, with consecutive home games against Sheffield United and Newcastle United respectively.
If the Hammers are to win those matches, however, they will need to be a whole lot better than they were against Everton.
Pellegrini was undoubtedly bitterly disappointed with what he saw at Goodison Park, and Mark Noble shared with the Evening Standard what the Chilean told the West Ham players after the defeat:
“Our performance level in the defeat at Everton last weekend was nowhere near good enough. We’ve had plenty of criticism, some deserved, some over the top. The manager was angry with the way we played. He said we can lose to Everton — but not like that. There were no tea cups thrown, but Manuel Pellegrini knows the quality we have in this squad and we didn’t show it, which was the most frustrating thing for him.”
The West Ham players will be desperate to show they have what it takes to bounce back.
Sheffield United will be far from an easy game. The Hammers have more than enough quality to hurt Chris Wilder’s men, however.
Three points is an absolute must. And Pellegrini will be expecting a big reaction from his team.
