Neil Warnock backed West Ham to avoid relegation this season, when speaking on Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday programme today (Saturday February 29th, 14:53).

The Hammers earned an absolutely massive three points at home to Southampton today.

David Moyes set his side up with real attacking intent. And it paid off. West Ham won comfortably in the end.

The 3-1 result will have given the players and the fans a huge confidence boost heading into the final 10 games of the season.

West Ham still have some incredibly tough games to come, however, with Arsenal, Wolves, Tottenham and Chelsea on the horizon.

Warnock believes the Hammers will have enough to stay up, however.

The former Cardiff City boss told Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday programme:

“When you look around at the other teams, I think West Ham have got enough. When you look at the bottom six, if they play anything like they are capable of , they’ve got a great chance of getting out of trouble.”

West Ham must show the commitment, fight, spirit and determination that they displayed against Southampton today between now and the end of the season, if they are to avoid the drop.

It’s Arsenal away up next for the Hammers. And the way that David Moyes’s side have played in the last two games, it would be no surprise to see them pick up a result at the Emirates.

Things are at least looking a little bit brighter for the east London outfit now. Especially with results elsewhere having gone their way yet again today.
