David Moyes spoke to reporters after his side’s bitterly disappointing 3-2 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last night, and shared what he told his players in the dressing room after the game, as quoted by Football.London.

The Hammers gave a really good account of themselves against the Reds last night.

Moyes’s side went behind early on. And many thought they would be in for a long night on Merseyside.

But that wasn’t to be the case.

West Ham turned things around, equalising almost immediately, before going 2-1 up early on in the second-half.

Liverpool came back to win the game 3-2, but there were so many positive signs for the Hammers – signs that quite simply weren’t there against Manchester City last week.

And Moyes shared with reporters how he told his players that the big games are now lying in wait, as quoted by Football.London:

“I have just said to the players tonight wasn’t a big game, neither was Man City. The big games start now so the players have been told that, the big games now begin. These two were only a warm up for the games we have to do something in.”

In spite of Moyes’s comments, he will surely still be devastated that his team failed to take anything away with them from Anfield. Because they certainly deserved to do so.

It’s Southampton up next for West Ham. And nothing less than all three points will do.

At least they have now shown that they have the capabilities to avoid relegation. Moyes has more than enough quality at his disposal. And the Hammers proved that last night.
