West Ham ace Michail Antonio spoke to the club’s official website after Saturday’s win over Southampton, and shared what he and his teammates realised after losing 3-2 to Liverpool this time last week.

The Hammers earned a vital three points against the Saints on Saturday. And David Moyes’s men looked like a really good attacking outfit.

The signs were there against Liverpool the previous week, however.

The Hammers had led 2-1 at Anfield, before eventually losing the game 3-2. But their performance was excellent. And the players clearly took a lot of heart from their showing against the champions elect.

And West Ham need to take that kind of spirit and application into their final 10 games of the season.

Antonio spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared how he and his teammates now realise exactly what they are capable:

“Obviously the last few weeks we’ve been playing under pressure in the situation that we’re in, and we kind of just, off the performance we had on Monday, realised we can play, that we can do it – and we went out and did it.”

The Hammers have some very tough games still to come. Their next four fixtures are Arsenal away, Wolves at home, Tottenham away and Chelsea at home.

But if they find the level that they showed against Liverpool and Southampton, they will be just fine.
