How do you rate West Ham's survival chances now?

Raul Jimenez of Fulham celebrates scoring his team's first goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Fulham at the London Stadium on December 27, 2025 in London, England.

However, it was another underwhelming display from the English defender, who has struggled to prove why he deserves to be starting every week under Nuno.

ExWHUEmployee issues Nathan Ake to West Ham update

According to ExWHUEmployee, West Ham want to sign Ake and are exploring the possibility of signing the Manchester City defender on loan in the January transfer window.

A number of defenders at Premier League sides are being looked at as potential loan options, including the 30-year-old Netherlands international.

It’s understood that a loan with an option to buy is something that would work for the Hammers and they are hoping that City are fine with it as well.

He has been someone who’s been on the London Stadium outfit’s radar in the past and they have even made approaches for him.

Who is the worst pound-for-pound signing in West Ham's history? He's surely up there…

Will Kilman leave if Ake joins?

Given that Ake is on the club’s radar, it would mean that he would take Kilman’s spot if Nuno plans to play a back four.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is the third-choice centre-back, but appears to have accepted that he’s not expected to start unless Nuno plays a back three.

For Kilman, he would want more minutes at 28, and Ake’s arrival could see him angle for an exit, potentially even hand in a transfer request in January.

Selling him would make sense for the Hammers as he could fetch a decent fee and that money could then be used to strengthen other areas.

A new striker will not come cheap, so selling the former Wolves defender would be a wise thing for the hierarchy.

It remains to be seen how much he will command and whether or not any other Premier League clubs will be keen on securing his services in January.

However, the club may not allow Kilman to leave if they decide to cancel Igor Julio’s loan from Brighton.
