West Ham skipper Mark Noble shared what he has been told that Martin ‘Mad Dog’ Allen has said about the current Hammers side, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard.
The east London outfit have made a very strong start to their 2019/20 Premier League campaign. Manuel Pellegrini’s men currently sit in fifth spot in the table. And a win today against Crystal Palace could see them jump inside the top four.
Noble himself has played a key role in West Ham’s success this season.
In fact, the Hammers look very strong in every single department.
And the West Ham captain shared what he’s been told that Mad Dog said about the current crop of players at the London Stadium, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard:
“I’m told that one of our former players and a real fans’ favourite — Martin Allen — said recently that this is the best West Ham team he had ever seen. Martin is one of the club ambassadors and regularly comes to our home matches, but that is quite a statement. The best team? Only time will tell, but for me, it’s certainly the best squad.”
Allen has certainly got a point. The West Ham team that finished fifth in 1999 would have something to say about that, however.
Much will depend on where Manuel Pellegrini’s side end up this season.
The Hammers are well capable of pushing for fifth, but they need to find more consistency if they are to achieve just that.
