West Ham ace Mark Noble sat down for an interview with the club’s official website, and shared the honest request he made of the board, the manager and his fellow players before the season started.
The Hammers have made a decent start to their Premier League campaign. They currently sit in eighth spot in the table, just four points adrift of second place.
Things could have been so much better, however.
West Ham are expected to push for a top six finish this season. They certainly have the players to give it a good go. But it will just be a matter of whether they can find the kind of consistency needed to challenge towards the top end of the table.
Noble spoke to WHUFC.com, and shared how he demanded that everyone should be setting their sights higher before the start of this season:
“I was honest at the beginning of the season. I said to the players, the manager and the Chairmen that we need to set our sights higher. I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t believe we could.”
Noble is 100 per cent right. The Hammers need to be aiming high this season. And they certainly have the capability of challenging for a European spot.
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Everton on Saturday. And a win against the Toffees would put Manuel Pellegrini’s men in a really strong position.
