West Ham skipper Mark Noble shared what he told his teammates before they took on Bournemouth last weekend, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard.
The Hammers earned a hard-fought point against the Cherries, coming back from 2-1 down with an Aaron Cresswell strike late in the second half.
West Ham now sit in fifth spot in the Premier League table, and a win over Crystal Palace today could see them jump inside the top four as they head into the two-week international break.
And a point away at Bournemouth might just end up being a really important result.
Noble explained just how tricky a trip to the Vitality Stadium is, and how he warned his teammates what to expect, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard:
“I felt it was a useful point because, for me, over the years a trip to Bournemouth has always been a worry. They were the sort of team who would often beat us, perhaps because of their intensity or maybe because we’d be a bit too nice. I said to the players who hadn’t been to Dean Court that just because it’s not a big stadium, don’t think it’s going to be easy.”
West Ham seem to be a really unified outfit this season, and a top six finish should be well within their reach.
And a win against Palace today would put them in a really strong position after eight games.
