Mark Noble suggested that West Ham have really missed Michail Antonio over the past few months, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard.
The 29-year-old began the season in fine form for the Hammers. He suffered a serious hamstring injury at the end of August, however, and has been out of action ever since.
Antonio is set to return to the fold against Tottenham tomorrow though.
West Ham have really missed the former Nottingham Forest winger’s power and pace over the past three months.
And Hammers skipper Mark Noble echoed that sentiment, when writing his regular column for the Evening Standard:
“We should have Michail Antonio back and that’s a real boost. He runs in behind defences, scares the opposition with his power and pace. We’ve missed that.”
Judging by his comments, Noble is suggesting that no one else in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad can do what the 29-year-old winger does.
Whether Antonio will be fit to start for West Ham against Tottenham tomorrow remains to be seen.
Just having him involved with the squad again will be a huge boost for Pellegrini, however.
The Hammers simply cannot afford to lose against Spurs. And in truth, only a win will do, if they are to get their push for a European place back on track.
