Many West Ham fans want East Stand at London Stadium named after Billy Bonds

The London Stadium still does not feel like home for West Ham, and there are many reasons for that.

One of them is that the club doesn’t own the arena; it still has the feel of a place which is borrowed. The Hammers have not been able to change much about the stadium so far, but Karren Brady has revealed one planned alteration.

The East Stand will be renamed in honour of somebody close to the hearts of West Ham fans.

There is no indication on who it will be yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans putting forward their suggestions.

Of course, there have been the usual funny suggestions; with a host of the underwhelming players the club have had down the years being suggested.

The overwhelming genuine suggestion is Billy Bonds, and it is hard to argue with that, in truth. Here’s what the fans have to say…
