Manuel Pellegrini offered high words of praise for Andriy Yarmolenko, when speaking to reporters after West Ham’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth yesterday, as quoted by Football.London:

The 29-year-old arrived at the London Stadium from Borussia Dortmund for around £17.5 million in the summer of 2018.

His debut season in the Premier League was ruined by injury, however, and he only made 10 appearances for the Hammers.

Yarmolenko seems to have returned to his best this season though.

The Ukraine international has racked up three goals in six appearances thus far, and it seems as though he will be a real asset for West Ham this term.

As long as he remains injury free, he will likely start most games for the Hammers between now and May.

Pellegrini spoke to reporters after yesterday’s game, and raved about Yarmolenko’s display, as quoted by Football.London:

“He was very unlucky last season but he returned working very hard. I’m very happy with his performances as he’s not only scoring, he doesn’t lose any ball during the game and he always works very hard.”

Next up for West Ham is a home game against Crystal Palace next weekend.

And Yarmolenko will be looking to add to his already impressive tally this season with a goal or two against the Eagles.
