West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini spoke to the club’s official website after signing a new long-term deal, and took time to praise the club’s fans.

The 26-year-old put pen to paper on a new four-year deal yesterday (with an option of a further two years).

Lanzini has proven to be a real bargain for the Hammers, after moving to east London for just £9.4 million in the summer of 2016.

The Argentine is a real fan favourite at the London Stadium, and the West Ham faithful love his exciting, swashbuckling playing style.

The attacking midfielder missed large chunks of last season through injury, but he now seems to be back to his best. And he will undoubtedly be a key figure for the Hammers this term.

Lanzini spoke to the club’s official website yesterday, and raved about the loyal West Ham fanbase:

“I love the fans! The West Ham fans are so crazy and so passionate. People in Argentina are the same and we love this. I think they love me, and it makes it easy for me. West Ham fans are so passionate, they remind me of fans in Argentina. If you lose, everyone is sad, but this passion is good for us because it reminds me of my country and reminds me of River Plate.”

West Ham face Norwich City later today, and they will be desperate to head into the international break on the back of a win.

And Lanzini will have a big part to play for the Hammers. He will surely be buzzing after signing a new deal with the club, and the stage seems to be set for the mercurial Argentine to shine.
