Unfortunately, that’s it from us here at Rush Green as the Gaffer has finished addressing The Press, I apologize for the lack of visuals today and put that down to a technical problem, head over to @lukegcoyi and @MooreThanAClub for those pictures.

Thank you very much for joining us once again this afternoon and we hope that you will tune in tomorrow morning for our Live Blog, live from The London Stadium Press Box for The Premier League visit of Chelsea and stay right where you are for all the build-up to that fixture, thanks again for tuning in, I hope you have enjoyed today’s Coverage and join us tomorrow morning, goodbye.

On How The Two Derbies At The Weekend Will Pan Out:

“Oh they are really hard to call The Derbies, I think that The Manchester Derby is at the moment arguably, the two best teams playing against each other, it might favour Manchester United playing at Old Trafford because of the home advantage, big crowd.

But, Manchester City, you know, are very good wherever they have been this season, I think at Everton it was always difficult going to Anfield, it was always a difficult game, over the years we played against some brilliant Liverpool teams and, you know, by the end of my time, we had managed to finish above Liverpool for the last two years in a row, I’ve got to say, from where I’ve been, I want Everton to win and I would like Manchester United to win”.

On The Form Of Chelsea This Season:

“Well, I’m not an expert on Chelsea, but I think how they played last year was fantastic, I think they’ve got numerous good players, I think maybe just a slow start to the season just caught them out a little bit.

I think Manchester City have been so strong from day one, but I think that Chelsea, on their day, are a match for any team in The Premier League and they proved it last year and I think they are probably doing it a bit more now”.

On Some Of The Big Players Needing To Step Up:

“Yeah, I think they know now that, you know, we will give them a real opportunity but they have to show us when they get the chance, if not then we will play other people”.

On The Strength Of The Squad Not To Be Drawn Into A Relegation Battle:

“I’m very confident that we have got a good Squad and a good group of players, we have to make sure that we win the games, so you know what you said is having good performances, I think tends to lead to good results, but ultimately we need to get some results”.

On The Confidence Taken From The Manchester City Showing:

“Yeah, I think we played well at Manchester City, I think we were good without the ball and when we got the ball we were OK, I would like us to be much better when we get the ball and work towards that.

But, ultimately you know, we have to stop conceding goals, we done it with a little bit of a patched up defence last week, so I hope that when we get some of the other players and some more of the Senior players back it will give us an even better chance”.

On The Future Role Of Mark Noble Within The Team:

“Well, I think what we’ve got is a decision to make in who plays all the time, because we want the players to perform and show what they can do.

Mark’s really influential, he’s great around the Dressing Room, he’s great around the club, but he’s not guaranteed just like there’s nobody guaranteed, we have to find a way of winning, I want to get players who will help me win and I’m gonna pick the players in form, the players I believe are in form”.

On Communication With The Players About Team Selection:

“Well, I will always try to speak to them, there are some occasions you should speak to them, and there are other occasions where there’s no need to”.

On Whether Goalkeeper Adrian Will Retain His Starting Spot:

“Well, I wouldn’t give the team out because I wouldn’t be here to help Chelsea, so I’ll keep my team to tomorrow and I’ve got my own decision in my own mind but I’ll wait to tomorrow to announce it”.

On The Team Performance Looking More Like He Would Want It To:

“Well, it’s early days yet, so I don’t want to get too carried away, but I’ve got to say the players have been really good, they’ve tried to take on board everything we have asked of them.

They are doing the work and as I’ve said right from the start, they’ll have to do the work if they want to play and hopefully, you know, we hope they are all doing that and things, we hope will improve but also improve with getting players back from injury as well”.

On Injury News Ahead Of Tomorrow:

“We are looking much better and have had a whole host of players back training for a few days, not fully training and I would say in some cases, not fully fit either but good to get them back.

(Hernandez) is back training, yeah, he is one of the ones back training”.
