Kevin Nolan raved about Declan Rice, when speaking to Sky Sports today (Tuesday September 24th, 10:55 am), labelling the West Ham ace as ‘top-notch’.
The 20-year-old burst onto the scene with the Hammers at the start of last season. And he is now widely regarded to be one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League.
Rice makes everything look so easy, but his performances often go under the radar. He does the simple things so well, and because the job he performs is perhaps less glamorous, he sometimes doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves.
The England international makes West Ham a much better team when he plays. He provides the back four with another level of protection, and he has an extremely exciting future ahead of him.
Nolan, who spent four years with the Hammers, absolutely raved about Rice, when speaking to Sky Sports today (Tuesday September 24th, 10:55 am):
“Yeah he’s top-notch, he’s absolutely a quality lad, quality player and still has more to come if he wants to be top end, he can be. I knew it when when I trained with him when he was 17, maybe 16, coming up, you could see he had the confidence, the ability, the self-assurance and arrogance which you need to be a top player so yeah I’m excited to see how far he goes.”
Nolan is spot on with his assessment of Rice.
The 20-year-old has all of the ingredients needed to go on and become a truly elite player in the game.
And he will undoubtedly be a vitally important player for both West Ham and England over the next decade or so.
