Last week, West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady wrote in her regular Sun column that rendering the season null and void would be a worthwhile option.
She has now backtracked on those claims, however, suggesting that the season should be played out to its completion.
And whilst writing her column for the Sun last night, she made a promise to the West Ham fans:
“What I can promise is that when football does start again, we will be ready to play and ready to finish the season. I look forward to when that day comes — as I am sure the whole nation also does. After all, nothing quite beats watching Premier League football. But in the meantime, look after yourselves and each other.”
Brady is a far from a popular figure amongst the Hammers fans.
And it seems as though the opinion that she voiced last week didn’t go down well with West Ham owner David Sullivan either.
The Daily Mail claims that the 71-year-old was very unhappy with Brady for voicing her somewhat controversial views in the Sun last week.
Really, Brady writing regularly for the Sun should not be happening at all.
It almost seems as though she is only interested in saying things with the sole intent of winding up the West Ham fans.
It’s not a great strategy.
A hopefully the backlash the Hammers vice-chairman received from last week’s Sun column will serve as some kind of warning.
West Ham have had their name dragged through the mud enough in recent years. And Brady’s antics haven’t helped one little bit.
