Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp praised West Ham duo Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller, when speaking to reporters yesterday.
The Brazilian and the Frenchman have been far from impressive this season, but Klopp’s comments on the Hammers duo prove how much quality they both have. It also highlights just how wrong David Moyes got it, when he left the duo on the bench away at Manchester City the other night.
The German is obviously well-versed in working with exceptional talents, so his words carry serious weight.
Anderson joined West Ham in the summer of 2018 for around £41.5 million (BBC), whilst Haller moved to the London Stadium a year later for £45 million (BBC).
Both players have shown what they are capable of in spurts, but not on a consistent enough basis.
Klopp took time to praise Anderson and Haller, however, when speaking to reporters yesterday, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:
“They didn’t have Anderson on the pitch and they didn’t have Haller on the pitch. I know both and like a lot.”
David Moyes absolutely has to play his best players away at Anfield on Monday night. Although the chances of him doing that are slim to none.
The Scot will most likely set his team up similarly to Wednesday night’s clash with City.
And we all know there is only one way that will end.
Moyes should listen to Klopp. And realise that he has some real match winners at West Ham. Players who can make a difference in the final third. Why settle for any less than at least giving your team a chance to win?
