John Moncur raved about West Ham starlet Jeremy Ngakia, when speaking exclusively to Love Sport Radio, suggesting that the youngster’s rise to prominence is a real bonus for the east London outfit.
The 19-year-old made his debut against Liverpool at the end of January, and then made his second appearance away at Anfield.
Ngakia has made a further two appearances since then, and he has really impressed.
The young West Ham ace has been completely fearless. He has oozed quality, and has arguably already made the right-back position his own.
With Pablo Zabaleta set to leave the Hammers in the summer, Ngakia’s emergence onto the scene could not have come at a better time.
And West Ham legend Moncur suggested that the 19-year-old’s form this season is a real bonus for the east London outfit, when speaking exclusively to Love Sport Radio:
“I think he’s been a real bonus. And so when someone comes in like that it gives the whole squad a lift because you think, blimey, we’ve got a signing here for nothing. And, you know, that’s what makes the difference. I’m really impressed with him.”
In Ngakia’s four Premier League appearances for far this season, he has racked up 12 tackles, 13 clearances, six interceptions and 13 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).
The 19-year-old obviously still has a long way to go before he can be classed as a truly top class player.
But the early signs are very good. The Hammers might just have another star of the future on their hands.
