John Moncur suggested that he is a big fan of West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website today.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City on transfer deadline day in January for around £22 million (The Guardian).

And Bowen has hit the ground running with West Ham.

The deadly attacker had to make do with two substitute appearances for the first two games that he was eligible to play for the Hammers.

The former Hull ace made his home debut for West Ham last weekend against Southampton. And what an impression he made.

Bowen scored West Ham’s opening goal, was a constant menace to the Saints back-line and did not stop working for the entirety of the match.

Moncur is clearly a huge fan of the 23-year-old. The Hammers legend told the club’s official website:

“I like Jarrod Bowen. I have seen a lot of him as my boy George played in the Championship against him for two years and what he is very direct and another player who doesn’t mind getting beyond the back four of the opposition. He’s got a great left foot, he comes in off the right and can create problems and is one of those players who can score a goal if he gets the chance. He’s proven.”

West Ham really need Bowen to be on his very best form between now and the end of the season.

Not only does he have genuine quality, but his incredible work-rate rubs off on others around him.

And the 23-year-old could be a real difference maker for the Hammers during the final 10 games of the season.
