John Moncur backed West Ham to beat Tottenham in 10 days time, when speaking exclusively to Love Sport Radio.

The Hammers are in real trouble at the moment.

David Moyes’s side are currently sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table. They are only sitting outside the relegation zone because of a superior goal difference to 17th placed Watford and 18th placed Bournemouth.

Spurs, meanwhile, are in real trouble themselves. They haven’t won in six games in all competitions. And they were dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of RB Leipzig last night.

West Ham play Wolves on Sunday, whilst Tottenham welcome Manchester United to north London on the same day.

Then the Hammers travel to Spurs five days later for Friday Night Football.

And Moncur believes that West Ham have what it takes to beat Tottenham. The former Hammers midfielder told Love Sport Radio:

“We can go and beat Tottenham you know. I mean we’ve done it before so I think the belief in the squad is there now, and I do think that our defence you know, to a point, looks decent and we can hurt teams.”

Despite Tottenham’s recent problems, West Ham will still have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating Mourinho’s men.

The Hammers were the first team to both score and win at Spurs’s new stadium, however. So they should be full of confidence heading into next week’s clash.

Beating Wolves on Sunday will be their main priority, however.
