Jarrod Bowen’s West Ham career is now at major risk of fizzling out without another goal

Jarrod Bowen has so often been West Ham United’s saviour. Now, they need him more than ever.

While it would be too much to suggest that Bowen’s form has deserted him in recent weeks, the fact of the matter is that his last Premier League goal came in late January.

What should West Ham do with Jarrod Bowen if they are relegated? 💭

It is, of course, important to point out that the England international has provided eight assists over that period. Yet, it does not feel out of the question to demand more.

Pressure on Jarrod Bowen to end goal drought

Bowen loves playing for West Ham, there’s little doubt about it.

He has deep roots here in east London and, in an ideal world, he would stay next season regardless of whatever division the club find themselves playing in.

Our away record has been woeful this season! 😬

His contribution to the cause cannot seriously be questioned. Still, Bowen is running out of time to get back on the scoresheet. While it’s scary to consider, there’s a reasonable chance that Bowen has just two games left for a club.

While it feels unfair to a degree to call for more from him, West Ham do not have the luxury at putting their position in a wider context.

Bowen needs to step up. He’s gone far too long without a goal.

Bowen’s future at West Ham is uncertain

Sunday sees West Ham travel to Newcastle for their penultimate Premier League game of the season.

Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in signing Bowen this summer and it’s not hard to imagine the former Hull forward being the subject of offers if the club did go down.

There is no absolute guarantee that Bowen will leave if the Hammers get relegated, but it would hardly be beneficial to their chances of keeping him should the club find themselves in the Championship.

Bowen has been let down along the way at West Ham. He is a legend and that cannot be disputed.

It is not too much, however, to ask for him to sign off in style at least.
