West Ham have a few decisions to make when the January transfer window opens.
Manuel Pellegrini will be considering any potential incoming players, possible fringe players to sell and he might send some youngsters out on loan.
One player that he needs to make a decision on is Nathan Trott.
Should he keep the young goalkeeper or let him develop out on loan? Here is why a loan spell could help Trott’s development.
Who is Nathan Trott?

Trott has been at West Ham since January 2016 and he has since made strides, progressing through the academy.
Born in Bermuda, the England under-20 international now represents the Three Lions at youth level.
Highly rated by club and country, the towering stopper is a strong shot stopper and commands his box well.
But with the 20-year-old’s contract expiring in summer 2020, Manchester United and Manchester City are keeping their tabs on his progress, according to The Mirror.
How good can Trott be?

Trott’s height, coupled with his impressive agility, gives him the perfect physical attributes to thrive at the top level of the game.
He is currently West Ham’s third choice goalkeeper, behind Lukasz Fabianski and Adrian, and the academy’s first choice.
Trott has the potential to become West Ham’s future number one but a loan spell would be more beneficial for his development.
The talented youngster is cruising at youth level for West Ham and England and he needs to be challenged in a new environment.
A loan to a lower league club would help prepare Trott for the big step up to first-team Premier League standard.
Move depends on Adrian
Any potential loan move could hinge on the future of Adrian, though.
The Spaniard is not content with being second choice at West Ham and might leave in January for the sake of his career.
If Adrian goes, Trott becomes second choice and Pellegrini will not want to loan him out until he finds a replacement.
