Jamie Carragher suggested that the West Ham fans are craving success, and that he hopes David Moyes can bring it to them, when speaking to Sky Sports on their Monday Night Football programme (19/10, 19:10).

The Hammers have started their 2020/21 Premier League campaign in fine fashion.

Moyes’s men have taken seven points from their opening five games. And considering the teams West Ham have had to play so far, that’s a fine return.

It seems as though the Hammers have made huge strides this season. Moyes has certainly instilled more belief into the players.

And we look far more organised than we did under Manuel Pellegrini or Slaven Bilic.

Throw new signing Said Benrahma into the mix, and exciting times may well be on the horizon for West Ham.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher admitted that he hopes so.

The Liverpool legend told Sky Sports:

“If you look at the second-half performance, the performance against Wolves and Leicester, they are some outstanding results. Seven points from nine out of those three fixtures, when even West Ham fans were really starting to worry after the start that they made. I really hope David Moyes does a similar job at West Ham to what he did at Everton and makes them what he did in that job because they are similar sort of clubs. David Moyes got really close to that at Everton. I think that’s what the West Ham fans are craving.”

The games don’t get any easier for West Ham. It’s Manchester City at home followed by Liverpool away up next.

But the way we have been playing recently should mean that the players are not fearing anyone or any team.

Carragher is right. The Hammers have so much potential. Whether Moyes is the man to help us reach the promised land, however, is up for debate. We are still unconvinced.

But as things stand, all you can do is tip your hit. Moyes has overseen some great results and performances since Premier League football resumed in June.

Let’s just hope that the boys keep up the good work. A top eight finish in the table should be well within our reach this season. In fact, anything seems possible in what has been the craziest of campaigns thus far.
