West Ham ace Issa Diop spoke to reporters over the weekend, and offered high words of praise for his teammate Andriy Yarmolenko, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Ukraine international joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer 0f 2018, for a fee believed to be worth around £17.5 million.
His debut season in England was disrupted by injury, however.
He only played 10 games for West Ham last term, but he seems to be back to somewhere near his best this season.
Yarmolenko has racked up three goals in six outings for the Hammers so far this term. And it seems as though he will be a real asset for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
And Diop absolutely raved about the 29-year-old, when speaking exclusively to WHUFC.com over the weekend:
“Everyone knows the quality of Yarmo. He had a long injury but now he is back 100 per cent and he helps the team a lot. We are big fans of him.”
Yarmolenko will be delighted how he has begun this current campaign.
If West Ham are to push for a top six finish, they will need the Ukrainian to be on top form.
And if he continues to produce his current goal ratio throughout the entire campaign, the Hammers have every chance of doing just that.
