West Ham were unlucky to lose to Arsenal at the Emirates yesterday, but Ian Wright still found time to praise Hammers trio Jarrod Bowen, Jeremy Ngakia and Issa Diop for their displays, when speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day programme (Sunday March 8th, 07:58).
David Moyes side looked dangerous all afternoon against the Gunners, and were desperately unfortunate not to take a positive result away with them from north London.
West Ham have put in three very good performances in their last three games. But those displays have only yielded three points. And this is a results business.
The east London outfit must find a way to grind out some results, irrespective of how they are actually performing, if they are to avoid relegation this season.
There are a lot of positives to be taken, however.
And Ian Wright singled out Jarrod Bowen, Jeremy Ngakia and Issa Diop for praise after the defeat to Arsenal yesterday, when speaking on when speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day programme (Sunday March 8th, 07:58):
“They done well. Jarrod Bowen had a really good game. I thought him, Ngakia and Diop were very good today.”
Wright is spot on. Bowen, Ngakia and Diop were all very impressive. The 23-year-old former Hull City ace worked tirelessly, whilst the 19-year-old right-back looked right at home once again at the very highest level.
Diop, meanwhile, has improved dramatically over the past few weeks. And the Frenchman was a rock at the back for the Hammers.
It’s Wolves at home up next for West Ham. And Moyes’s men will have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of taking maximum points from the game.
The Hammers have the quality, that can’t be denied. But do they have the bottle for the fight that lies ahead? Only time will tell.
