West Ham signed Jordan Hugill from Preston North End in January 2018 for around £10 million, according to Football.London.
The 27-year-old was a total flop at the London Stadium, however. He made just three appearances for the Hammers, and failed to score a single goal.
Hugill was swiftly moved on to Middlesbrough on a season long loan in the summer of 2018.
The striker then joined Queens Park Rangers on loan in July of this year.
So how has Hugill fared at Loftus Road since leaving West Ham?
The 27-year-old has made an instant impact for Mark Warburton’s side. He’s bagged five goals in eight appearances thus far.
Three of those goals have been vitally important for QPR, earning them an extra five points.
The west London outfit currently sit in ninth spot in the Championship table – a drastic improvement upon their 19th placed finish last season.
Hugill has always performed at Championship level, so perhaps that’s where he belongs.
It could be argued that he is just not cut-out for the Premier League.
And in spite of his decent form with QPR, there will still not be too many West Ham fans wishing that he had remained in east London.
