West Ham signed Andre Ayew from Swansea City in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth £20.5 million, according to BBC Sport.
Things never really worked out for the Ghanaian in east London, however.
It just never clicked for him at West Ham, with injuries severely hindering his progress at the London Stadium.
The 29-year-old racked up just 12 goals and five assists in 50 appearances for the Hammers. And he was sold back to Swansea in January 2018 for around £18 million, according to BBC Sport.
So how has Ayew got on since his return to Wales?
The Ghana international has racked up just two goals and five assists in 21 appearances since he returned to the Liberty Stadium.
Ayew was shipped out on a season-long loan to Fenerbahce during the 2018/19 campaign, where he notched five goals and two assists in 38 outings, but he returned to the Swans in the summer.
He appears to have an important role for Swansea this season. He has started seven Championship games, and he has been a driving force behind their climb to the top of the Championship table.
West Ham have plenty of exciting attacking players, so they will not be regretting allowing Ayew to leave.
The 29-year-old seems to be doing just fine at Swansea, however. It is the perfect case of a transfer working out well for both clubs and the player himself.
