West Ham head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in the Premier League tomorrow.
The Hammers are looking to make it two Premier League wins in a row, whilst the Gunners will be hoping to rack up their third consecutive league victory.
David Moyes’s side looked a lot better against Southampton last weekend. Arsenal, meanwhile, showed their vulnerabilities at home to Olympiacos last Thursday, losing 2-1 to the Greek side after extra time.
Many are still expecting the Gunners to beat the Hammers on Saturday, however. Especially considering the fact that they have home advantage.
West Ham might have just been given a boost by the Premier League, however.
Arsenal were scheduled to take on Manchester City last weekend, but the game was postponed because the Premier League champions reached the Carabao Cup final.
That match has now been re-scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th. And according to Mikel Arteta, it was the Premier League’s decision.
Now, the Gunners obviously have a much better chance of beating the Hammers than they do City.
So could Arteta be tempted to rest some of his key men against David Moyes’s side? Perhaps.
The Spaniard may opt to leave some of his best players on the bench, or start them and bring them off towards the end of the game.
Whatever happens, the Arsenal coaching staff will surely have Wednesday’s upcoming clash with City in the back of their minds when they play West Ham.
The Gunners have a real chance at finishing inside the top four once again, incredibly. And Arteta will have to manage his squad accordingly over the next few weeks, with four games to come in the next 16 days.
And that might just play into West Ham’s hands on Saturday.
