West Ham had a potential glimpse into the future as Queens Park Rangers downed Preston North End.
Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with West Ham, scored both goals in the 2-0 win. High-flying Preston are on a poor run and QPR compounded their misery with a strong victory at Loftus Road.
Eze was the undoubted star of the show, scoring both goals for the hosts. But West Ham loanee Jordan Hugill also played his part with an energetic performance up top. Could the pair reunite in claret and blue?
Eze could be Hammers missing link
West Ham are lacking some pace, skill and directness in the midfield. Over the past season-and-a-half, Eze has proven that he has that magical spark for QPR.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals in 20 Championship games this season, as well as providing four assists. In total, he has 15 goals and nine assists in 85 games for the Hoops.
Eze features alongside Grady Diangana for England U21s. Together, the pair could take West Ham into a new era. Eze certainly looks like the type of player who could immediately improve this West Ham team.
According to The Sun, West Ham are one of the teams eager to sign Eze. This could become a reality if West Ham make a statement with some January spending.
