Adrian left West Ham as a free agent in the summer of 2019, linking up with Liverpool on a free transfer.
The Spaniard was somewhat of a cult hero in east London. He joined the Hammers from Real Betis on a free in the summer of 2013. And went on to make 150 appearances for the club.
The 33-year-old has probably played more for Liverpool than he would have expected when he moved to Anfield last summer.
Alisson Becker was injured during the first month or so of the season, allowing Adrian to make 15 appearances for the Reds.
Many West Ham fans were sad to see the former Real Betis man leave the London Stadium seven months ago.
And they would have loved the Spaniard’s post game tweet, however. He showed that he still has a place in his heart for his former club:
The Hammers owners will now surely be wishing that they had offered Adrian a new deal last summer, considering the problems that West Ham have had in the goalkeeping department this season.
It wasn’t to be, however, and Adrian moved on. But he clearly hasn’t forgotten West Ham or their fans.
