West Ham have only ever won three games at Goodison Park in the Premier League era.
Firstly, Tim Breacker’s early goal gave West Ham a 1-0 win in 1994. Then, Bobby Zamora’s second half goal earned West Ham a 2-1 win in 2005.
But the most memorable win against Goodison Park in the Premier League came in March 2016 under Slaven Bilic. Here, we relive that game for your enjoyment.
First half
West Ham got off to a terrible but predictable start. Considering West Ham nearly always lose at Everton and Romelu Lukaku always scores against the Hammers, his 13th minute opener came as a surprise to no one.
The physical Belgian turned his defender and lashed in a left-footed shot.
West Ham were then handed a major chance to get back into the game courtesy of two moments of madness from Kevin Mirallas.
The temperamental Greek winger had already been booked for simulation when he went flying in on Aaron Cresswell and he picked up his second yellow card.
West Ham failed to use the extra man advantage for the remaining 10 minutes of the first period so it was 1-0 to the hosts at the break.
Second half
West Ham emerged looking for an equaliser. But it was Everton who scored next, with Aaron Lennon doubling the hosts’ lead.
Lennon played a one-two with Lukaku and his pace was too hot to handle as he burst into the box and slotted past Adrian.
On 69 minutes, Everton had the chance to put the game beyond doubt. Mo Besic was fouled by Alex Song, although replays suggest it may not have even been inside the box.
Lukaku stepped up and struck to Adrian’s right but the big Spaniard was able to parry clear.
Spurred on by that lifeline, West Ham went in search of a route back into the game.
The much-needed confidence boost came in the 78th minute as Mark Noble’s enticing cross was slammed home by Michail Antonio’s header. West Ham grabbed the ball and headed back to the centre-circle quickly.
Just three minutes later, the Irons were level. Dimitri Payet did what he does best and sent in an inch-perfect cross. Diafra Sakho got on the end of it and headed West Ham back to parity.
The visitors now had the momentum with nine minutes remaining and pushed for a late winner.
Just as the clock struck 90 minutes, it came. Aaron Cresswell hit a cross-field ball which Andy Carroll nodded down to Sakho.
The Senegal international provided a deft back-heel flick into the path of Payet, who slid the ball under Joel Robles to give the Hammers all three points.
