Felipe Anderson has suggested that West Ham need to try and become ‘invincible’ at home, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website.
The Hammers have made a decent start to their Premier League campaign, and they currently sit in seventh spot in the table, having taken seven points from their opening four games.
Their home form will still be a concern for Manuel Pellegrini, however.
West Ham have won just six out of their last 12 Premier League games at the London Stadium.
And they will undoubtedly have to improve upon that, if they are to finish inside the top seven this season.
The Hammers moved into the London Stadium for the start of the 2016/17 season, and they have had teething problems there ever since.
Everything seems to have settled down now, however, and with a more settled squad, Pellegrini will be targeting a European spot.
Anderson, who joined West Ham in the summer of 2018, told the club’s official website how he and his teammates must make their home stadium a fortress:
“I have always said that West Ham have the quality to play against any rival,” he insisted. “Our idea is to be invincible at home and then try to get results away. So, we can play against anyone and we know it, but we also know that we have to go step by step.”
Next up for the Hammers is a trip to Aston Villa on Monday September 16th, before they play host to Manchester United the following Sunday.
And a return of six points from those games really would have West Ham fans dreaming that this season could be their year.
