ExWHUemployee took to Twitter last night to provide an injury update on West Ham ace Michail Antonio.
The 29-year-old Hammers man has already missed a large chunk of the season because of a hamstring injury.
He returned to action in November, but was forced back to the sidelines for West Ham’s last two games after a recurrence of the same injury.
Antonio is so important to the way in which the Hammers play. The pace and power that he possesses brings something unique to the West Ham setup, and they struggle badly without him.
The east London outfit have a really tough three weeks ahead of them, with games against Sheffield United, Everton, Leicester City and Liverpool all to come before the end of the month.
So David Moyes will be desperate to have Antonio back and firing on all cylinders as soon as possible.
And reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that the former Nottingham Forest attacker could be back for Friday’s trip to Yorkshire to take on the Blades:
If Antonio is fit for the Sheffield United game, it would be a huge boost for the Hammers. Chris Wilder’s team are incredibly physical. So having someone like the 29-year-old to put his weight around up front will be crucial for West Ham.
Moyes’s men will be full of confidence after racking up back-to-back wins. And another victory on Friday night really would put a totally different spin on their season thus far.
