Reliable West Ham United source ExWHUemployee is considering stopping his inside information updates from the club.

The anonymous Twitter and podcast personality has been providing ITK information from West Ham for a number of years.

He has become a go-to source of information from behind the scenes at West Ham for fans, building up an impressive 70,000 followers on Twitter.

If West Ham fans have questions they often look to Ex for answers.

ExWHUemployee has become go-to West Ham ITK

Indeed his updates are also used by journalists for West Ham stories.

The inside source divides opinion among some West Ham fans.

Many believe his updates on transfers and team news undermine the club.

Others see his news as a more trustworthy stream of information than the tabloid media who are often more focused on the biggest five or six clubs with their football coverage.

ExWHUemployee often finds himself having to defend his record and reputation.

But ExWHUemployee has revealed he is seriously considering calling it a day.

Insider considering quitting

“Thanks mate, we shall see (whether I continue),” Ex said when a West Ham fan urged him not to stop his inside info updates.

“I don’t really enjoy it anymore to be honest and obviously I don’t get anything for doing it, other than being called a fraud every few weeks so we shall see.

“Sometimes it’s good to quit while you are ahead too but as said I haven’t decided yet.”

Many would argue that ExWHUemployee’s updates are no different to the old ClubCall West Ham line which used to discuss club affairs and transfer business many moons ago.

Some fans on tenterhooks with transfer window looming

But a section of supporters question whether it is healthy for club information to be leaked in such a way.

For some supporters it may be a case of ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone’.

But as Ex has stated he is yet to make up his mind one way or the other.

With the next transfer window opening in just over a week, ExWHUemployee usually comes into his own at this time of year.

Whether that will be the case from here on in, only he knows.
