According to ExWHUemployee, the West Ham players were questioning Manuel Pellegrini’s training methods towards the end of his tenure at the London Stadium.
The Chilean lost his job on Saturday night, after the Hammers were beaten 2-1 at home to Leicester City.
The 66-year-old was immediately replaced by David Moyes the following day. And the Scot has a lot of work to do if he is to guide West Ham away from trouble.
Moyes is in a good position, however. Nobody is expecting anything from the former Everton manager, and he will surely be able to do a better job than the recently axed Pellegrini.
There were accusations against the Chilean that he was too soft and that the players didn’t have much respect for him.
Whether that was actually the case is unclear, but West Ham’s on-field performances certainly support the notion.
And Hammers insider ExWHUemployee has lent further credence to that by suggesting that the players were questioning Pellegrini’s training methods towards the end of his reign at the club:
If true, that is fairly damning. Pellegrini was a dead man walking at the end. And Moyes will face similar pressure over the next few months.
West Ham are in a real relegation scrap. And they have to start winning games soon, if they are to avoid the drop this season.
