And David Sullivan has to do everything humanly possible to bring a striker with those attributes to the London Stadium for Potter.

That obviously remains to be seen, but a really concerning claim has just dropped that suggests the Hammers may face a frustrating summer.

It seems like Jonathan David is the number one target for Potter this summer.

Jonathan David is actually said to be keen to join West Ham, so there’s no reason why the owners shouldn’t be able to get this deal done.

However, a big spanner has just been thrown in the works, with Claret and Hugh claiming that Potter is ‘stalling’ on a deal to sign David.

That’s because the total package needed to bring the 25-year-old to West Ham will be worth around £50 million.

Even if that is true, and David will cost £50 million in total, then it’s still an unbelievable bargain.

By the time Danny Ings leaves West Ham this summer, he would have cost the club over £31 million in fees and wages!

Try signing a striker like Jonathan David for anything less than £50 million all-in, wages included. I’ll give you a hint, it won’t be possible.
