West Ham boss David Moyes refused to rule out a positional switch for Said Benrahma ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Crystal Palace, when speaking to Football.London.

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers on a £4 million season-long loan from Brentford in October.

West Ham have an obligation to buy Said Benrahma for a further £26 million in the summer (Daily Mail).

The Algeria international has made an instant impact at the London Stadium.

The slick winger is an absolute magician and he is a player the West Ham fans have craved since Dimitri Payet left for Marseille four years ago.

David Moyes has eased Said Benrahma into action slowly. And it appears that that tactic has paid off.

The Algerian was quite simply sensational when making his first start for the Hammers against Leeds on Friday night.

Moyes was asked today whether he would consider using the 25-year-old as an auxiliary centre-forward, as quoted by Football.London:

“I think he could do it if we needed it but I wouldn’t say he is a number nine, I would see him as a 10, 11 or 7. But in recent times I have had a couple of sevens or 11’s that have become centre forwards, so who knows.”

If Moyes does opt to use Said Benrahma as a centre-forward, it would surely be the final nail in the coffin for Sebastien Haller.

The Ivorian has failed to impress since joining West Ham in the summer of 2019. It is already clear to see that Moyes isn’t a big fan of Haller.

And Benrahma being used as a number nine could be the target man’s death knell.

Moyes’s team selection against Crystal Palace tomorrow’s night will be a huge indicator of where Haller stands.
