David Moyes has urged the West Ham fans to get behind the team ahead of the Premier League run-in, when speaking to exclusively Sky Sports.
The Hammers are currently in real trouble. They are sitting in 18th spot in the Premier League table, one point adrift of safety.
And Moyes’s men have some incredibly tough games on the horizon.
West Ham travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City tomorrow night and then play Liverpool at Anfield the following Monday.
Moyes needs fans right behind the team
It’s not all doom and gloom for the Hammers, however. Results elsewhere have gone their way in recent weeks. And the additions of Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek have given the fans genuine reason to be optimistic.
Moyes spoke exclusively to Sky Sports today, and highlighted the need for the fans to get behind the team over the course of the next few months:
“Stick with the team, your support is going to be vital. At home especially I think you can play your part and you can be an influence. We have had very few decisions since we have been here I have felt that have gone for us and at times the crowd can influence that and we need to try and get behind the team which they have been to be fair. And I have to say they have been great with me, they’ve really supportive and helped me since I have been back and I have to say stick with us and hopefully we will turn it around.”
It is hard to argue that the West Ham fans haven’t been fully behind the team in every game this season. Sure, they are unhappy with the board, but they always back the players 100 per cent.
And with games against Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea to come in their next seven matches, the Hammers players really need the West Ham fans to be at their vociferous best up until the end of the season.
