West Ham put in a clinical display against Bournemouth yesterday, winning the game 4-0, and former player Danny Gabbidon reacted on Twitter.

The Hammers had been on a terrible run before yesterday’s clash with the Cherries, having won just two out of their last 13 Premier League games. They actually fell inside the bottom three after the three o’clock games.

So beating Bournemouth was of paramount importance for West Ham.

After the Hammers’ 4-0 win, they now sit in 16th spot in the table, two points clear of the drop zone.

Things don’t get any easier for West Ham, however. The east London club’s next four league games are against Sheffield United, Everton, Leicester City and Liverpool.

So yesterday’s win now looks even more important.

And Gabbidon, who made 113 appearances for the Hammers, was impressed with what he saw at the London Stadium yesterday…

West Ham looked like a totally different side under David Moyes. They were hungry, they pressed and were first to every loose ball.

It was against a really poor Bournemouth side, but it was encouraging nonetheless.

And with some really tough games to come, West Ham need to be on their very best form over the next month or so, if they are to stay clear of the drop zone.
