West Ham insider ExWHUemployee suggested that Manuel Pellegrini will not be sacked anytime soon, when speaking during the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday November 6th).
The Sun reported earlier this week that the Hammers boss is facing the axe, having overseen a run of no wins in six games.
West Ham have slipped down to 13th spot in the Premier League table. And Pellegrini’s team selection and tactics for recent matches have drawn heavy criticism from some sections of the media and the fans.
It could be argued that the Chilean is past his best. And West Ham might just need a fresh approach, if they are to fulfil their full potential.
Well-informed insider ExWHUemployee suggested that Pellegrini will be going nowhere anytime soon, however, when speaking during the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday November 6th).
He claimed that sacking the former Manchester City boss now would cost West Ham £20 million:
“We’ve debated Pellegrini’s future, but he’s got a year-and-a-half left on his contract. He isn’t going to be sacked right now, the club are coming out and saying it’s a united front, because it would cost £20 million to get rid of him and his staff.”
Despite Ex’s claims, Pellegrini will surely be desperate for a win on Saturday away at Burnley. He is standing on very thin ice.
And if results don’t improve soon, a fresh approach will surely be needed to get West Ham back to their best.
