Olivier Giroud sent a timely message to Frank Lampard and Chelsea when he scored for France in the European qualifying draw with Turkey.
Chelsea do not seem to think he is good enough. Giroud has been dropped out of the squad to accommodate Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. But the world champions think Giroud is a talented striker.
This is why he would be perfect for West Ham in January. The veteran striker could be seeking a Chelsea exit in two months’ time if his game-time does not improve. Manuel Pellegrini needs to be making enquiries about this potential striker solution.
Giroud threatens to leave Chelsea

Giroud has recently expressed his unhappiness at being left out of the Chelsea squad. With just five games to his name this season (and one goal), he is not being given the chances at Stamford Bridge.
After scoring for his country, the Frenchman revealed he could leave. Giroud told Goal: “I want to have fun and want to play more games. Chelsea is my priority, but if in the end I’m forced to make a choice, I will do it as when I left Arsenal.”
Chelsea’s loss could be West Ham’s gain. Lampard is clearly looking to the future with Abraham as his main striker and Batshuayi as his back-up. If Giroud has no place in his plans, West Ham should swoop.
Giroud: Ideal striker solution

Giroud could be the perfect option to complete West Ham’s striker ranks. At the moment, Sebastien Haller is the undisputed starting striker but Albian Ajeti – his only back-up – has not played a single league game yet.
West Ham sold Javier Hernandez, Xande Silva is out injured and potential makeshift striker Michail Antonio is also out. This makes signing a striker a priority in the January window.
Giroud would offer experience, an aerial threat and goals to this West Ham team. With 78 Premier League goals to his name, the 33-year-old knows where the net is at this level.
Pellegrini would be able to ease the burden on Haller, rotate the French pair and slowly blood Ajeti into the team. This is an arrangement that could help to take West Ham to the next level.
