Charlie Nicholas predicts three goals in Southampton vs West Ham clash

Charlie Nicholas has backed Southampton to beat West Ham 2-1 tomorrow, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.

The Hammers and the Saints have both been very poor this season.

West Ham sit in 16th spot in the Premier League table, two places and one point ahead of Southampton.

Both teams desperately need all three points tomorrow, so it should be a fairly entertaining game at St Mary’s.

It is common knowledge that Manuel Pellegrini’s job is on the line, and a defeat to the Saints could spell the end of his time in charge at the London Stadium.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is also under pressure, although he does at least have his team playing some decent stuff, unlike Pellegrini.

The table is so tight that a win for either side would put them closer to mid-table, and it could really turn their season around.

Nicholas believes that Southampton will beat West Ham 2-1.

He told Sky Sports:

“Southampton can edge this one.”
