Charlie Nicholas backed West Ham to draw with Crystal Palace on Boxing Day, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports, suggesting that neither side can be trusted to get a result.
The Hammers will be buoyed by their recent win over Southampton. But their form over the past two months or so cannot be ignored.
They have won just two of their last 11 Premier League games, and Crystal Palace will represent a stern test on Thursday.
The Eagles currently sit comfortably in 12th spot in the Premier League table, four points ahead of West Ham.
Both sides will undoubtedly be going for the win, so it should be an exciting game of football on display at Selhurst Park.
Nicholas predicted that the game will end in a draw, however, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports:
“These two keep rolling along and I am never sure what they will do. This is the hardest Boxing Day fixture to call. West Ham can get an occasional result away from home but you cannot trust the pair of them, so it is another case of sitting on the fence.”
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 1-1
In truth, neither side would be happy with that outcome.
If West Ham or Palace are to be kicking on towards the top seven, they need to be winning games like these.
The game kicks off at 15:00 and can be seen live and exclusive on Amazon Prime.
