Charlie Nicholas backed West Ham to beat Crystal Palace comfortably, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.
The Hammers currently sit in fifth spot in the Premier League table, having taken 12 points from their opening seven games.
The Eagles, meanwhile, sit in ninth spot after a return of 11 points from seven games.
West Ham look like a really unified outfit this season, and they are playing some really good football.
Many are tipping Manuel Pellegrini’s men to push for a top six spot this season, and if they continue their current form over the course of 38 games, there is no reason why they cannot do just that.
Beating Crystal Palace would be the ideal way to head into the two-week international break.
And Charlie Nicholas believes West Ham will emerge victorious from Saturday’s game:
“This is a nice London derby. Crystal Palace are slightly better away from home, but it’s hard to tell sometimes. Wilfried Zaha looks like he may be over the transfer situation, while Mark Noble is playing better than he ever has. It was a good point for West Ham at Bournemouth when normally they would have folded. This is the best West Ham side I have seen in a long while and I think Sebastian Haller will be the fans favourite, finding the net again.”
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 3-1
Palace will be no pushovers. So the Hammers need to be right at it from the very first whistle.
And if they are, Pellegrini’s side should have more than enough to beat Roy Hodgson’s men quite comfortably.
