I remember saying we have to get a new manager when we got thumped by Forest and Man City. Well Sam has made me eat Humble Pie! Firstly, that is a great thing to happen because it means we are winning games. Secondly, at the same time the Winston Reid’s, Andy Carroll’s etc have made a comeback and made the incumbent first team players work harder than our youngsters were ever going to do.

I personally think it is a mixture of the two. Yes our better players came back along with the loan players in to make it more competitive for places along with easier games. However, the point away to Chelsea, three points away to Villa and the nine points gained at Upton Park against Swansea, Norwich and The Saints have in my opinion made us safe if we can accumulate another six points.

Obviously the plus has been the excellent form of Adrian’s wall headed by the man himself Adrian. Four clean sheets from the five games mentioned above has made him a fans favourite. He has passion too, which is what us hammers love. He is young and could be our goalie for years to come,

The other four in “Adrian’s Wall”, being George McCartney, Ginger Pele, Tomkins and Demel have all played better than I can remember. Again, I wonder if that is more to do with confidence in the man behind them!! I am a massive Reid fan but who can you drop? I would like him back in but I don’t know who for. I would also love to see Armero come in but again that would be harsh on George, who looks rejuvenated too.

As for the rest of the season, two wins should see us safe I think. We still have Hull and Palace at home as well as WBA and Sunderland away. I would expect the points from them games but I looked at the Stoke team and believed we could’ve nick something there. So it’s all to play for.
