According to a report from Football.London, Andriy Yarmolenko could be set to return from injury for West Ham in around 11 days time, when they play host to Wolves in the Premier League.
The 30-year-old joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018 for around £17.5 million (Evening Standard).
His time in east London has been blighted by injuries, however.
Yarmolenko has made only 25 appearances for West Ham, racking up five goals and two assists in the process.
And the 86-capped Ukraine international hasn’t played for the Hammers since December last year.
Whilst he hasn’t exactly set the world alight in east London, on his day he is a real threat, and having him back and available for selection will be a huge boost for David Moyes.
Football.London claims that Yarmolenko could be back in time for West Ham’s home game against Wolves on March 15th.
West Ham do have plenty of attacking options now, especially after Jarrod Bowen’s arrival from Hull City in January.
But Yarmolenko, when he’s at his best, can offer the Hammers something different, what with his guile in and creativity in and around the penalty area and his deadly finishing.
The 30-year-old’s 137 goals in 340 games for Dynamo Kyiv is evidence of his quality (Transfermarkt). And he could still make a huge impact for West Ham between now and the end of the season.
